In Israel programmers can work on a project for 6-8 months and then looking for a job for 1-2 years.
I perefer my job, I working in a small citrus company - the manger ask me: "you have said you study mechanical engineering?! you will be our mechanic." - it's lucky that I've good hands. And mechanical engineers in Isarel are mangers or planners - and people who have study BBA are no working. So in Israel everything is upside down, you can't get your dream job if you working hard - You have must find the shortcuts...

Why did nobody suggest work for the Government?
Here, in Brazil, programmers' salary isn't that good in most of private companies. But aside from private one's we've got some good paying public jobs (Except that most of them are for enginers, admins and laywes). All you need is required knowledge and guts.

If I'm going to do what I really want (which is acting) I'll starve. I'm terrible at math, so being an engineer is out of question. The closest thing that I like that will not make me starve is psychology, and I'm not even sure yet.
