Yeah... This is about why I've been buying laptop cooling pads for years.
Do you need one if you use your laptop on top of a desk? Probably not, but I actually use my laptop on my lap, in a Lay-z-Boy chair. The body heat from my thighs combines with the hot wind from the vents and just sort builds exponentially. Eventually, I either I burn myself, or I fry my laptop. I've done both before. :P
Oh, and lads? Not at all good for the little swimmers to put a heat source like a bare laptop right over them either. ;)
