I notice there's no mention of what would happen to our world if they stopped killing, and the populations of birds and disease-carrying pest species started doubling every year and growing exponentially. One chipmunk in the park is cute. 500 of them ripping their way into your house because you have food and there's not remotely enough seed-bearing plants to support their exploded population... that's the stuff of horror films.
