Most famous guilotining I can think of is Marie-Antoinette. I can't actually recall any kings who were guillotined.
"...One day after being convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers and sentenced to death by the French National Convention, King Louis XVI is executed by guillotine in the Place de la Revolution in Paris...."
Charles I was beheaded by axe, not quite the guillotine. Henry III and Henry the IV were stabbed IIRC.

Nice.
As it happens, “New World” schools tend to teach mostly history beginning with our own colonization, and is pretty light on “Old World” history unless you chose those elective subjects deliberately.

ROFL... I'm afraid to ask but; "New World schools"?
A catch- all term for countries settled by crossing the great oceans in the colonial era. “ New world” is how most Europe referred to the Americas for a surprisingly long time, both because it was the part of the world most recently discovered to exist, and because the countries founded there still don’t count their history in 4-digit numbers.
