Pretty sure this whole classification system has been thoroughly debunked by now.
Including the "alpha wolves" that most of our concept of "alpha males" comes from. There are no alpha wolves. The researcher thought he was looking at a small pack with a hierarchy, but it was actually a small family where the pups had reached their adult size. The children deferred to their parents. He spent the rest of his life trying to kill the term he coined. Unsuccessfully.
