life sometimes* sucks
It would please me greatly if just once someone quotes "the love of money is the root of all evil" correctly.

AND applies it correctly!
Wealthy people are not often obsessed with money; poor people often are (because every dollar matters in their lives). The wealthy are often extremely generous when donating to charities... or STARTING charities for worthy causes.
Poor people often become desperate enough to commit crimes so that they can have just a little more money, or one nice thing they cannot afford to buy. Ethical standards start getting weak when your stomach is rumbling. Make one moral compromise, and it's much easier to do the same compromise again... and again... and to escalate to a more serious (and potentially profitable) crime. THAT is the true meaning of "love of money is the root of all evil."
