Here's where that comes from.
Crazy cat lady with no friends and 25 cats in her house, drops dead.
Because she has no regular contacts, three weeks go by before anyone notices she's dead.
For three weeks, no one has been feeding the cats, buying more food, or opening any doors or windows to let them outside.
Eventually, the starving cats have no choice but to turn to the only source of decay-softened protein they can find... old lady corpse.
Once that's gone they'd probably be forced to eat each other to survive.
