Hate to break it to you, but that is NOT transformers. That, my friend, is a Gundam ;P Excellent anime btw. Stay away from the chibi version though.

Gundam that's a name I haven't heard in a long time :-) I watched about 5 episodes 12 years ago and I don't remember why I've stopped.
There's loads of them, in parallel universes and everything. War, mechas, psychology and bratty people having to wise up. Now I feel like rewatching it, after I'm finished with Code Geass. :D
