that would make us cannibals because we're mammals who eat mammals. the pelican would be a cannibal if it ate another pelican because they are the same species

Actually after reading about it, a bird of prey isn't a cannibal. Also it's not rare, I usually used to see a waterbird eat only fish, but a pelican is a water bird of prey. So I was wrong.
