The greater causalty fail being that no one would draw a "Hitler-stache" on a passed-out friend as a prank before Adolf made the look famous and negative.
In actual fact, Hitler was a big fan of silent film star and comedian Charlie Chaplin, and copied his unusual mustache out of admiration. He would go on to make the "Toothbrush-stache" look far more recognizable than Chaplin ever did.

Also, now that I think of it, 18yo Hitler was famously rejected by the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, so he never went to college. That seems more significant than the beer cans too.
