I don't think so. That's a blue Wal-Mart vest, which gives you a hint of the old guy's income level. He and his family could only afford a child-sized coffin for him.

The numbers in this comic are a bit exaggerated (at least for average funeral homes; might be more on-point in, say, Beverly Hills California) but it's not at all unusual for the total cost of funerals to run over $10,000, and the coffin (a shiny box you're going to show people for one day, and then bury in the ground) is a big chunk of that. Funeral Homes are required by law to provide an economy option, which is usually an unpainted plywood rectangle box that will give people splinters, and the funeral director will shame you hard for even suggesting that cheap thing is what your loved one deserves.
