I think the price is more determined by the box than by the alcohol, people just want to show off with how rich they are on some parties so get these boxes or so I think

No, I believe that is a bottle of Louis XIII Conac. That stuff is beyond amazing, and at $2000, that's the initial retail price. After market on one of those bottles is likely two to three times that after 4-5 years. High end alcohol is unbelievable expensive. The packaging is just a throw in. That display box likely cost them $5-$10 to build. They write that off.

but ... it's just alcohol. It does not extend life. It does not cure the disease. Just give alcohol euphoria, nothing more.

you'd want to save it for a super special occasion- like after successfully escaping from the jail that you were sent to for stealing a bottle of cognac
