I know what those words mean individually, but what do they mean together?
Apparently it is for visualizing how earthquake spreads through the ground. Seismologists can use this information to see where the epicenter is, etc etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_ground_acceleration
So... in this map, an earthquake happened @ about 20:25 somewhere to the SE of Honshu, and it was felt all over Japan in the next 1.5 minutes! Crazy stuff.
