Yes, but the house is very strong. In my country, Israel, we'll build with both methods. Those who want cheap houses build it ,like the Americans made from wood. And those who build their houses made from concrete, but it also take much more time to build - over a year, the builders in Israel are too slow.
It's better to be in a house made of wood when earthquake happen...
Correct. A woodhouse will flex and sway slightly. Thus reliving the strain in weather and disasters. As well wood houses are easy to build, cheap, and easy to add on to later on.
i dont think wood houses are cheap,it requires lot of mans work.
When i was having my house built 8 guys were able to have the wood frame up and the roof on in 2 days. considering that the wood comes to the site cut and they are just nailing it together its pretty fast.
