Another major problem with panda breeding is that pandas have tiny dicks.
No seriously, like 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. And of course lady pandas have a big ol bear ass. Panda dudes basically have to rub it off on the outside and hope some very ambitious little swimmers make it in past the fur.

We're trying to keep them around because they're cute and because of environmentalist politics... but the truth of evolution is that many species go extinct without any "help" from humans. Some are just dead ends destined to die off and make room for more viable and adaptable species.

That's... almost an interesting solution.
Cross-breed in a more viable breed of bear, then selectively breed for the more panda-like traits. Might be a lot of generations before they were so cute again, but it's technically possible.
