Well, his popularity is obviously fueled by a very LARGE amount of people who clearly don't share your opinion of his work.
Also... how fast do you think full-colour multi-panel comic strips of this art quality level take to produce? A lot more than "a day or two", I assure you. Weeks, typically.
Finally, I don't believe you understand what "clickbaiting" is. If your objection is that he draws sexually attractive female characters in his comics and pinups... all I can say is, Jago did not invent marketing by himself, nor hertosexuality. He also does not draw actual porn (a.k.a. ACTUAL "cheap smut") despite numerous requests from a broad range of people.

This is like saying "he is popular because he has fans".
Please don't explain things with themselfes.
And also, i don't have to guess, how long it takes to create a three panel comic which is mostly copy&paste with simple coloring and not even a real background, because as an artist myself i know!
I would be really surprised if it took him longer than two days if not one.
This comic could not even took him so long, because the whole #freethebooty issue came up and was solved in like three days.
But i excuse my wrong choice of words.
What i wanted to say is, that he generates views on a cheap way.
It's allways the "oh look how cool i am with my anti SJW opinion" thing.
Which is mostly him, don't understanding the issue at hand and just putting some borderline sexual content in a comic together with an mostly out of context punchline.
He could have just let this one issue pass by and call it a day, but nope, it was just that important.
Even after everything was over.

I don't think "he's popular because a lot people like his work" is circular reasoning; more like cause and effect.
How long art takes to do does also depend on how many hours a day you can devote to it. I assume Jago has a job to pay his bills. I work with a small company that employs whole teams of artists to draw pinups and comics. You're probably right, "weeks" is overstating the time needed by a full-time artist to produce a comic strip like this, but "a few days" would be reasonable. In the end, it's not relevant how fast you or I think Jago should draw, but how fast he actually does. Jago often posts sketch versions of pinups he's working on, on his own site. If he went from start to finish in a single day, he wouldn't bother. I also believe he works on several different pieces at a time, rather than finishing things in the same order he begins them with. Visiting his site can give one a better idea of how he paces himself.
He most likely started drawing this comic before Blizz announced they changed the pose, and finished after. Even if he didn't, so what? Just because the issue came to a resolution doesn't mean it's not still fairly recent news, and topical. People are still talking about it right now.
But i excuse my wrong choice of words...
That is a bit clearer way of describing your objection, thank you. Let me respond to that instead.
"Borderline sexual content" would describe Jago's entire art style. It would be stranger for him to suddenly alter the way he draws, particularly when the sex appeal of that character was at the center of the issue.
Jago does not make any sort of per-click income. His site has no ads, so he is not trying to, nor would he benefit directly from generating views. He does have a Patreon account like many online artists these days, so people who genuinely want to support his art can do so, entirely by their own choice. It's basically a tip jar.
He also isn't the one who posts his work here. Other people (his fans) bring his art to U.G.C. sites like JoyReactor.com because they want to share their appreciation for his work with their peers.
In a very very roundabout way, yes, the more people who are interested enough in his work to visit his site will proportionally increase the number of supporters who donate to his work with Patreon, but he receives money ONLY from people who genuinely admire his work and want him to produce more, and go out of their way to deliberately pay him; not one penny from people like yourself who don't care for his work. He has done nothing to earn your resentment.
I'll agree with you on one point though; that's a pretty weak punchline. I'm not even sure I found the correct reference. :/

Incidentally, he's got another joke about the Overwatch pose fuss in mid-produciton right now. Currently it's only a lineart pinup, which you can see on his website.
My original problem was his quite obvious mind set.
It is his way of reacting to things, nothing else.
The most issues tackled in his comics are of a sexual nature.
And he reacts to it, with over sexualisation?
It shows, that he mostly has no real clue about the issue at hand and draws comics that read like imprudent forum posts.
Yes, it is his inability to create intelligent humor that "earns him my resentment"
As someone who shows his work and promotes himself in public, everyone has the right to judge and critique him.
Oh and on a side note.
His Patreon account generates 1600$ a month, which is three times the average amount of what you earn in Colombia, where he lives.
So i don't think he is dependant on a full time job (which is a good thing)

You've looked farther into his Patreon than I bothered to. You're right; at that level, he probably wouldn't need a day-job. Good for him!
So we're down to: you personally don't care for his sense of humor. That's fine. We can agree to disagree on that point. (Besides which, this comment section is getting bizarrely long for a Joyreactor post meant to bring a moment's amusement).
I'll only leave you with the observation that, voting opposite of your personal opinions are enough people who feel strongly otherwise, to provide Jago with three times the average Colombian income. Your first complaint was about his popularity. Coming from another artist, this mostly sounds like sour grapes.
That's my final thought on the matter. I'm off to find something on this site to laugh about. This has been far too serious a discussion for this site. May you find something you like better here. Best wishes.

I've never seen one nearly funny joke from him.
His drawing style is really nothing special.
And now there is this.
He posted this comic a day or two AFTER the whole situation was solved, to the good!
Nothing but clickbaiting with cheap smut.
