But you're nonetheless familiar with the behavior of one of them kicking up a fuss to get you to open the door, then they stand there and don't go through, looking at you as if expecting something (tears of frustration, perhaps).
To be honest, my mother's dog does this a lot too, though we've been training him out of it. Partial progress so far.
