Had to watch it through a few times to figure it out. Apparently he used a piece of rope he found hanging off the escalator as a makeshift belt, but it turned out the other end was attached to a dog.
This raises two obvious questions:
1. Why the fuck would he use one end of a rope without knowing where the other end was?
2. Why did this dogs owner leave it's homemade leash hanging off a escalator rail several paces behind where he and the dog were riding it?
This is so weird and unlikely it ends up looking completely staged.
