Cats are well known to be prissy about where they'll go, generally only somewhere they can bury their waste, like a sandbox (okay, yes, I know that's hunting behavior, hiding their scent so that prey doesn't know they're in the area... but I derive more joy from teasing cats and calling them stuck-up little prisses. ;) )
