Interestingly, Japanese cam models (both professional and amateur) have been using contagion masks for years just to remain anonymous.
See, they already have the habit of wearing them whenever they're sick, to prevent giving other people their colds or flu, so seeing someone walking around wearing one isn't odd at all.
Therefor it also follows, that people wanting to hide their face for more... criminal reasons, usually use a contagion mask for that very reason.
