That clown makes fake burgers
Meh. They're real enough; just not very high quality.
Maximum Efficiency is the religion of large supply chains, that get the meat from the factory ranch to your Big Mac.
The trouble is, extremely efficient supply chains are very brittle; there's no leeway anywhere if something goes off-schedule.
Now, enter the Covid-19 crisis. Whole industries, warehouses, shipping fleets, and restaurants shut down for months.
Many fast food chains like Wendy's are technically open, but have NO MEAT, meanwhile, the ranchers have nowhere to send the animals that were going to flow down the supply chain to said restaurant, because everything in between is shut down. They had to slaughter 7 million animals and dump them all in mass graves. Meanwhile, there's still no meat at the restaurant.
That's just the most shocking example; these fragile little supply chains are breaking all over the continent. The place I usually stop for coffee and breakfast sandwich on my way to work had no EGGS last week.
