Goodness! What are those clippers made of? LOL
Strong argument for the one interpretation that his hair and nails don't grow, for whatever reason (not that there IS a very good reason, except that they didn't want to draw the icon of America's ego looking like a homeless person). That said, I still really liked the one version I read in a comic saying he bounced his heat vision off a mirror to shave; that was neat to read... but it seems pretty unlikely he'd be able to do the same thing with his head hair or nails.
