Same impression. Mainly I think it's the shape of the cockpit window.
Hmm... now, come to think of it, do we know that the Millennium Falcon wasn't in part based on this Soviet design?
I think that the falcon has half windows with the bottom covered (because who approaches from below in space) but lots of things do that sort of window, another place to look for them is in subs and in video games, underwater buildings.
