Mr. President, Governor Romney, as a 20-year-old college student, all I hear from professors, neighbors and others is that when I graduate, I will have little chance to get employment. When she signed up for the course, they told her their graduates had 98% employment in related fields.
Midway through, I found her some part-time work drawing fan-comic pinups for about $100/page, (maybe 10 pinups a month, so = $1000/m. Not quite enough to live off, but reasonable for part-time work). She turned the job down, because her teachers told her about magazine illustrators that make $400/page.
When she was weeks from graduating, her teachers finally admitted that the REAL employment in related fields of graduates of their program was the inverse; 2%. Among that 2% is that magazine illustrator they like to brag about making $400/page... and if you want HER job, you'd have to murder her.
Incidentally, the window of opportunity unfortunately closed on that $1000/m comic job I found for her as well (it being two years since the offer was extended to her on my recommendation).
After 5 years in college, and $40,000 in student debt, my sister is a waitress now.
