Through the One Ring, Sauron could perceive minds of those who wielded all other Rings of Power and so subdue them to his will.
The One Ring from "The Lord of the Rings" has several significant powers besides granting invisibility:
1. Dominion over the other Rings: The One Ring was created to control the other Rings of Power. It grants its wearer control and mastery over those who possess the lesser rings, allowing domination over them.
2. Longevity and Preservation: The One Ring extends the life of its bearer, keeping them alive beyond their natural lifespan. This is most evident in the case of Gollum, who lives for centuries while in possession of the Ring.
3. Corruption: The Ring has a corrupting influence on its bearer, amplifying negative traits and desires. It feeds on the wearer's ambition, greed, and lust for power, ultimately leading to their downfall.
4. Sauron's Influence: The One Ring is a manifestation of the Dark Lord Sauron's power. While worn, it makes the wearer more susceptible to Sauron's control and influence, drawing them closer to his will.
5. Binding to Sauron: The Ring seeks to return to its master, Sauron, and will exert its influence to achieve this goal. It actively works against those who would try to destroy it, seeking to be reunited with its creator.
