If you happened to be familiar with the Smurf lore, originally, there were NO female smurfs. Smurfette was created artificially by Gargamel to infiltrate and distract the Smurfs.
The question of how they reproduce normally (and asexually) I don't think was ever answered... and to be fair, it was a kid's show/comic. Those are the kind of questions adults are more likely to ask.
