I think it's genetics. If I get drunk I don't remember shit and than my friends show me funny pictures of me.

My sibling was on a mood stabilizer medication that not only tripled the effect of alcohol on her judgement centers (yet unfortunately did not speed up her passing out at all) but also guaranteed her to be a blackout drunk every time, so she never remembered anything she'd done, and never learned from the experiences... until we started keeping records and showing her.

That was over a decade ago now. She's doing much better these days.
