Daylight hits Windows PC and PS4 in April

Zombie Studios' horror game Daylight will launch on Windows PC and PlayStation 4 in April, studio director Jarred Gerritzen mentioned in an IGN video walkthrough.
Previously, the Unreal Engine 4-powered game's release on Windows PC and PS4  was only known as "early 2014." Daylight places users in the role of a character who wakes up in an abandoned hospital. Equipped only with a dying smartphone and its flashlight and compass, players must navigate their way through the hostile environment.
The developer announced late last year that its procedurally generated horror game will support the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

Titanfall Now Officially in Open Beta (Xbox One only for now)

It appears that the previously announced, carefully planned waves of Titanfall beta invites have now been abandoned, as the game is now open to all players on Xbox One - even if you don't have a beta code.
Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella said on Twitter that one of the company's coders, Jon Shiring, wanted to "break" the game by letting players stress-test it en masse.
The news was soon officially announced by Xbox's Director of Programming Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, on his blog. He offers these instructions for getting yourself in: "To download the beta, sign in to your Xbox One and head to the 'New Game Demos' section of the Game Store and it will appear there. You can also say 'Xbox Bing' then 'Show me game demos'. Also, in some Xbox Live regions you’ll see a 'Join The Titanfall Beta' link on the home page of Xbox One, next to My Game and Apps."
He adds on Twitter that it may take a few hours for everyone to see the Titanfall beta in their demos section, so don't panic if you can't see it right now; and once you do get in, keep in mind that there may be server issues due to the influx of new players.

The Evil Within release date set for late August

The Evil Within will be available on August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe.
The latest horror title from scaremaster and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within is set for release on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on those dates.
It marks the return of Shinji Mikami to a genre he helped to define through his seminal work on the Resident Evil series. We’re talking about the man who directed Resident Evil 4 here. It’s true to say that in recent years he's strayed from the genre, but has continued to produce work that is both memorable and often eccentric (Vanquish, Shadows of the Damned). The release of The Evil Within feels like a homecoming. So far the imagery has been disturbing, grubby, unsettling – as you'd expect – but there also seems to be a generous helping of psychological torment slopping around with the more gruesome stuff.

Borderlands 3 isn't currently in development

You'd think that with the success of Borderlands 2, Gearbox would already be hard at work on Borderlands 3, but that isn't the case. "I'm not going to fuck around with you like Valve does with Half-Life 3," Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford told Polygon. "We know we want it and we know it should exist, but we don't know what it is yet."
You have to appreciate the honesty. It's not like we won't get another Borderlands—it's just too early at this stage for Gearbox to talk about it in any concrete way. Loosely speaking, Pitchford added that he knows that the game should be "next-gen" and "probably crazy multi-platform." He also said that it should be bigger and better than Borderlands 2, and follow up Borderlands 2's story. That's certainly what we're expecting given the future beyond planet Pandora that's hinted at in the end of Borderlands 2.
Pitchford did imply, however, that more Borderlands things are afoot at Gearbox, even if the developer hasn't begun work on a fully fledged sequel. "We are doing things in Borderlands that we'll announce soon, that are good, and that I think people will be really excited about if you love the franchise," he said. There's also Telltale Games' Tales from the Borderlands, expected to release in 2014.
Aside from Borderlands, Pitchford said that Gearbox is working on two, yet-to-be-revealed games, unrelated to existing franchises. And this on top of its Furious Four, another Brothers in Arms game, remastered editions of both Homeworlds and Homeworld: Shipbreakers.

New Bound by Flame trailer

Developed by Spiders Studio for PC, PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360, Bound by Flame is a heroic fantasy RPG that has you playing as a mercenary possessed by a demon in flames. In the grasp of the demon, you must choose between the demonic power within you, and your humanity. Should you choose the latter, you must repel the demonic influence and develop truly heroic skills. As dangers and enemies close down on you, always more fearsome and terrifying, you will be tempted to yield a bit more of your soul to the demon that possesses you in order to gain more power… and as the demon gains more of your soul, your physical transformation becomes more obvious.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo now on Steam

All Gabriel "Dracula" Belmont wants to do is be left in peace. He longs to stare into the night sky and occasionally feast on the blood of the pure, but that stupid Satan just won't stop showing up and kicking over Dracula's Gothic sand castle. We'll soon get to stick our Void Swords right in the Devil's derriere when Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 hits PCs on February 25, but at least we can sate our bloodthirst in the meantime with the free demo available on Steam along with a 10 percent cut of the $60 pre-order price.
