that's why I don't buy popcorn in cinema, cause it ends to early :D
well, I read somewhere, that they sell you old popcorn to you in cinemas. They take a popcorn which was made a day before and just warm it up a little. That's why I don't buy popcorn in cinemas. Maybe the guy who sells you that popcorn warms his balls in it!

I've worked in movie theaters. Any leftover popcorn at the end of the night is bagged up and donated somewhere... food bank? I forget now; it's been years.
As for still having something to eat when the movie actually begins, here's another insider tip: There will always be approximately 15 minutes of trailers from the stated showtime. The actual movie doesn't start until 15 minutes after the official time of the show. Feel free to come a bit later, have a smaller line at concessions, and walk in 2 minutes before the REAL showtime with a full bag of popcorn. ;P
