Sad but true. Video game censorship in germany was (and is still) allways over the top. When the first Zelda came out, it was criticised for "being too realistic and brutal".

Contra 3 was released in germany as "Super Probotector", just google it, you see the difference.

Oh yeah! I have heard of Super Probotector. I had an emulator app on my tablet to play old nintendo and gameboy games and I played that one.
