Will Joe Biden build us sand castles?

You remember when the news was reporting everywhere that "Trump signed an executive order to keep meat plants open?" None of those reporters actually read the text of the order itself. It doesn't demand plants stay open at all; it prevents the workers from suing the plants for them getting sick from covid-19, as a direct result of refusing to implement any protective measures like social distancing in their plants.
The Defense Production Act is a presidential power that allows him to take control of supply chains, and force private companies to protect the people of the country even at their expense. Instead he used it to protect private companies at the expense of the people.
It took him two days to whip out the DPA to cover corporate America's asses from their own total irresponsibility.
It took him two MONTHS to use it to attempt to save the lives of front line health care workers, by halting the EXPORT of life-saving PPE gear like masks OUT of the country for profit, when the country was experiencing a critical shortage... and frankly by then it was too late to make much of a difference. 55,000+ totally preventable deaths.

No worries on the rant...I don't think that Trump has been as effective has we would have hoped and I doubt Biden is going to be as effective as we hope either. Our forefathers set up a style of government that was designed to prevent any one party from getting too much power and bogging them down. Unfortunately, it has been whipsawing back and forth with greater extremism of late.
Frankly I blame ALL political parties, not just the Dems or Repubs because the two major parties could have promoted a much stronger candidate, and hopefully one that was a little younger. The other parties could have stepped up their game and entered the race with a little more vigor providing a better alternative than Biden or Trump. My niece voted for the first time in her life. She told me she tried to research some of the candidates and they had no online presence. And when she was done she thought they all sounded the same. If your message isn't unique what is going to set you apart?
