Hmm. Well let's think this through properly... A huge amount of weight, being redistributed from a large area to several small areas. In effect, at those narrow points where the beams collect, there is enough force pushing down to equal a building several times over this size. Also a reduced stable base for lateral force when the wind blows the building.
...Okay, I'll acknowledge the architectural impressiveness to build it in the first place, but I'm still convinced it's less safe and stable than a building with a solid, evenly distributed base. I don't want to live in it... or within any distance of it equal or less the distance of it's height.
