haven't played pokemon, so i don't get it. Just see that professor oak is an asshole

In Pokemon Red if you try to leave town when you still don't have a Pokemon it causes Professor Oak to come warn you that you can't leave until you have one and then takes you to his lab to choose your first Pokemon. You get three to pick from: Bulbasaur the Grass-type, Charmander the Fire0type, and Squirtle the Water-type. Grass types are weak against fire since plants can burn up, but Oak doesn't actual burn Bulbasaur since he cares so much about Pokemon that he dedicated his life to studying them. Due to Charmander having a tail that's always on fire and the fact that you have to walk through tall grass to find wild Pokemon is why the comic's artist made the thing about the fire. Squirtle's first attack that it knows when you get it from Oak is Bubble, and the artist thought it an odd attack since no one in real life has ever used bubbles to attack people or animals. Also Blue/Green/Garry(Fart) is Oak's grandson and your character's rival. The rival is a jerk so people tend to give him bad names since at the begining of the game(after a long speech from Oak about what Pokemon are) you can name your character and your rival. Oh, and kids can becom trainers at age 11, so the thing in the newspaper is implying that Red(your character) died from the wildfire caused accidentaly by Charmander's tail. And see my other comment for explanation about why Oak would not be able to actually be caught. I think the only reason Red would capture Oak is due to people being able to reset the game to choose a different starter Pokemon by shutting it off without saving or saving before choosing a starter, but for Red to be mad enough to capture Oak he would have to somehow remember everything that happened when he chose each starter, which breaks the fourth wall.
Funny, and awesome, but I'm pretty sure that Pokeballs are manufactured to filter out humans. If he had an anchient Pokeball then it could possibly work to catch Oak.
