Scientists at the University of Rochester have created a metal that is so extremely hydrophobic that the water bounces on it.

Instead of using chemical coatings they used lasers to etch a nanostructure on the metal itself.

The water bounces on the metal, lands on the surface again and gets bounced off

A point source of light is reflected from a concave mirror and focused onto the edge of a razor blade, which is mounted in front of the camera.
